Where are you starting?

Three questions against each of the eight audio modules. There is no pass mark, nobody is turned away for any answer, and most people answer very few at the start — that is exactly who the course is built for.

You take this twice. Once now, and once at the end of the course. The second sitting is scored against the first and the difference is shown module by module — that is your evidence that it worked, and ours.

Which sitting is this?

  1. A microphone's job is to turn sound into:

  2. Which of these comes FIRST on the way from a singer to the audience?

  3. A singer cannot be heard. The fastest way to find out why is to:

  24. The part of the job most people underestimate is:

Starting at the beginning

This is the most common result and it is the easiest place to teach from. You will start at module one and nothing will be skipped.

You have picked things up along the way

You know some of it, probably from being around it rather than being taught. Module one will go quickly; two and four are where you will get the most.

You can already make a show work

You can get sound up. What is missing is the why, which is the thing that stops you panicking when it goes wrong. Start at module one anyway, fast.

Further along than the course assumes

Tell the instructor what you already run. You will still work the ladder at the board — knowing it and doing it with a room waiting are different.
